Well done! Those sort of pictures are what this topic is for, not just a crappy cameraphone picture of a parcan lighting up a stage.

(You'll need to select just 3 though, to comply with the guidelines of the topic set out in the first post)

Nice pictures, richard_cooper.

Since it's actually several different shows (rather than a pile of different shots of one production) I think we can let the "only 3 pictures" rule go this time, otherwise just feel free to move a couple of them to a new post.
Resistance is not futile. It's voltage divided by current.

Been meaning to add these for some time. Quality isn't fantastic and these were taken quickly after the last show because somebody thought it clever to use a flash all the way through. Posted Image

Sorry its just the Set :D

Year 10 production of 'Dracula', performed in our temporary venue with entirely temporary facilities and staging, whilst we're having a new theatre built (until March 2013 at least). This was a very 'straight' version of Dracula, with no melodrama, no fangs and very little fake blood. Worked nicely in the space, despite having to contend with very limited power supply, white walls, and no wing space or backstage facilities. With limited hanging facilities, this was also an ideal play for much use of floor/set-mounted Birdies, and some nice side boom positions. Also, a deliberately monochrome colour palette for the lighting, and a very simple set consisting of multi-levels and broken-down vertical slats.

Finally had time to sort photos from our most recent big show. Sadly draconian rules prevent you from seeing the cast, so you'll have to cope with just the set, lights and video. All the artwork on the screens was drawn by lower school students as free choice homework, and all submissions were displayed in the bar.

The orchestra were put in the music classroom next to the theatre and piped back over a Roland CAT5 multi, with video and audio links in both directions.

Set design by me, lighting design was a co-op between me and a student LD. I designed the rig, but she did most of the plotting and had a lot of input to the final look of the show.

The run crew was all students except for me on followspot. Run as a pro show would be with SM, DSM, ASMs, dressers etc. I have to say the students really stepped up to the challenge and excelled through a long hard week.

LX stock
12 Patt743s
14 650W Fresnels
11 650W Profiles
8 LED PARs - meant to be 4 Chauvet Tri Tours but we had a stock issue at the supplier - the only hired LX
16 PAR64s
2 MAC 600s - they live in the rig and got used for the occasional special
2 Robert Juliat Buxie followspots
2 Nocturne floods - houselights

Set
A load of litedeck
A load of hardboard
A staircase built by me - I managed carpentry! :D
8 Nazi Flags
24 Solenoid drops from BR's own Tom Howard (3 on each flag, one to unroll, 2 to drop it out) driven over DMX

Video
1 large projection screen - due to budget this was made of 3x1, 12mm mdf and cheap white paint
1 clapped out old school laptop running screen monkey
1 Sanyo XP57 - our house projector

Sound
A pile of nice mics on the orchestra
12 ways of G3 300 with CPC headsets
4 PZMs - mainly for backstage/orchestra feed
Roland digital multi
01V96 - orchestra submix
A&H Zed 428 - final mix
4 OHM MR10s - vocals and foldback
Big gnarly old homebrew rig - orchestra system

Some photos from our production of Jesus Christ Superstar. I've only uploaded 2 as I have seen a stunning pic of the crucifixion yet it is not on the CD I've been given....I'll follow up with it later.

Just a couple from reheasals (on my phone cam)- the bottom pic is from Trojan women. We had a load of new Chauvet LED kit and an OrbXF delivered only 1.5 wks before the FMP's. Made for a tight schedule with very little time for 'proper' photos of the final performance.

Something a bit different.
This was the first year of our school music festival 'AfricAid Festival'.
I organised the event, with PA and staging from the brilliant HPSS in Hull. PA spec was L'Acoustic dV-DOSC, dV-SUB and SB218 with Avid Profile on FOH and a Midas Pro 2 on monitors.

A few pics from the show I was working on recently. My old high-school's production of Schools' We Will Rock You. I went back to provide assistance with all things technical, supply some additional kit and also to create the lighting design.

Unfortunately these pics are from the night our hazer decided to give-up-the-ghost, so I was relying on fog!

Funny you should mention WWRY, I seem to have been roped into helping three different schools do this now. (and I also lost the hazer on one night) - sadly I only have photos from one of these productions, but thought I'd share them below since I always find it interesting to see how different people do it - this was on a very small stage at a tiny school in the middle of nowhere, but they had one of the most pleasant cast (and crew) to work with anywhere, was a great experience, if all schools were like that I'd gladly work as a teacher ;)

Killer Queen, tracked by three movers as she walks downstage, got the timing perfect every night.

Posted Image

Rehearsal aka "let get the cast to clap in time with the video" (the battens at the side were moved a bit, actually the LX changed quite a bit after this point, spot the lighting desk in the foreground ;))

Posted Image

This wasn't part of the show (so cheating slightly)... However on the final night the cast all ended up dancing on stage, dragging some of the crew with them (spot the director in the WWRY London TShirt ;)) and singing We are the Champions - it's this moment that reminds me why I agreed to spend a week in the middle of nowhere, with lots of kit for very little financial reward, the pupils (and staff) loved it... and it really was a great experience and completely unlike anything this small rural school had done before - great fun :)

Posted Image

p.s. The person on the desk ended up putting lots to full and leaving to join this chaos, the 'lots to full' included the hazer which I eventually turned down a bit before the entire venue disappeared into the mist ;)
