Ynot
Dusting off (literally) a couple of old CP Silverado moving mirrors for a show this week, but the Ion doesn't have a specific profile for them. From my recessed memory banks I THINK they were a modified Mini-Scan, but using that option doesn't get them working at the moment. Searching for a manual online isn't giving very encouraging results (though I have found a couple of shocking porn sites that way!) so haven't yet been able to check that either... Anyone have any info lying around that may help?
Stuart91
Anyone have any info lying around that may help? Try this. It looks like they take four channels, so I can see why the MiniScan profile wouldn't have worked.
Ynot
CheersI do have a copy of that somewhere (now it's filed again, thanks) - left the theatre now, so will have another look on the morrow. ItalsoremindsmethatthiswasbackintheearlydayswheninanattempttoconserveDMXchannels, theycombinedseveralfeaturesontoonechannel. So 'dimmer' was at the lower end of ch 1, with strobing a bit further up, and gobos at the upper 50% of the same channel. :)
Stuart91
Channel 4 of the MiniScans used to always bother me, in a similar fashion. It shared dimmer and strobe functions, which meant that it was impossible to strobe at less than 100% intensity.

niclights
They do use the same mechanical blades for both functions although that doesn't necessarily mean it's impossible to control shutter intensity - other fixtures have similar arrangements and manage it by just varying how much the blade(s) open and close. Of course tt's possible it simply wasn't possible in these fixtures for some reason but I suspect it might have just been about reducing channels at the time. Apologies for taking this further off topic.
Ynot
Either way, all sorted now.Created a simple fixture for them - doesn't quite match what the lamps do, but close enough for what I need.(AND I found a paper copy of the manual that Stuart linked - I knew I had one somewhere, but as per, I found it when looking for something completely different!)
